The challenge
180 rooms
The intelligent interior architecture of Stavanger Concert Hall allows two concerts to be staged simultaneously, without any sound transfer from one to the other. This new landmark building was designed by RATIO Arkitekter.
It required a modern access control system to match its daring design. Easy installation and straightforward operation were key.
Key requirements included:
- fully flexible access, to enable musicians, staff and contractors to move about freely, but only in authorized areas
- uncompromising security standards to ensure protection for thousands of visitors at any one time
- a system to minimize access control costs by doing away with cumbersome and expensive physical key management
The solution
135 escutcheons
Stavanger Concert Hall chose battery-powered Aperio Offline escutcheons and cylinders integrated with their access control system. The system includes portable programming devices, in combination with online readers and doors.
It’s straightforward for an administrator to divide users into defined groups. This ensures every site user has tailored access rights.
Flexibility
Employees need secure access to a canteen, recreation room, wardrobes, sauna and fitness, in addition to their offices and the venue archive. For major events up to 200 additional contractors access different areas of the concert hall.
This degree of flexibility is possible because Aperio® wireless locks bring access control to many more doors.
“Every single person can only access necessary areas — which improves safety for everyone.”
- Gaute Arnesen, Technical Operations Manager at Stavanger Concert Hall
